Title: Never Forgiven
Prompt: Embittered
Word Count: 183
Rating: K+
Original/Fandom: Naruto
Pairings (if any): none
Warnings (Non-Con/Dub-Con/Underage): none
Summary: Sasuke's rage has been tempered to bitterness, but that doesn't mean it is any less consuming.
Looking over the Leaf could only fill Sasuke with bitterness. Once, thinking about what they had done to his family had filled him with such an all-consuming rage that he only wanted to destroy. Now the furious fire had been tempered, but he still hated the village. Even though he had been acquitted of his crimes, Naruto’s intervention, he could still remember what they had done.
Sometimes, he still wanted to reach out and destroy it, but then he remembered Naruto and Sakura and Kakashi, and he calmed himself.
It was hard, but he had to remind himself that the ones who truly committed the crimes against his family were dead by his hand and that the rest of the village did not deserve to be punished.
But his dark desires made it so that he could never live there again, even though those few that still wanted him begged him to return. He would be forever embittered against the Leaf, no matter what changes Naruto wrought.
He did not actively seek to destroy anymore, but he could never forgive the Leaf either.
